Maybe there is a proxy server or firewall in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this email, we discuss some of the causes of this error and the solutions for the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the official answer from Bricsys Technical support, we extract the below from the Bricsys website:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Symptoms<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When trying to activate BricsCAD, I get the error message: <strong>Error reading from network (error -105).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cause<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A firewall is blocking internet traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Solution<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do one of the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Disable the firewall during activation. Enable the firewall again afterwards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make an exception on the firewall for port 80 and URL: <a href=\"http:\/\/license.bricsys.com\/actpro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">license.bricsys.com\/actpro<\/a> If it is not possible to disable the firewall or make an exception, do a manual activation (This is the last resort, please first try all other options).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disable any antivirus software that you may be running.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can try the above and see if it helps. Some users may find it difficult to access the firewall settings, specify or change the port number, make exceptions, etc.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>In that case, you can even try with a different internet connection and see if that helps.
