Densify Vertices: CP_DENSIFY – CADPower Command

Delete Vertex: CP_DELVX – CADPower Command

Summary The CP_DELVX command in CADPower provides a quick and efficient way to delete a vertex from a polyline in a single step. With this command, users can simply select the vertex they want to remove. It will be instantly deleted without the need for multiple operations. CADPower-> Polyline-> Vertex Management-> Delete Vertex This is especially useful for editing and refining polylines in complex drawings, allowing for more precise control over the shape and geometry of polylines. It simplifies the process of adjusting polyline vertices, saving time and making edits more intuitive.

Insert Vertex: CP_INSVX – CADPower Command

Summary The CP_INSVX command in CADPower allows you to easily insert a vertex along any polyline by simply picking a point at the desired location. This command streamlines the process of adding vertices to existing polylines. And enabling greater flexibility when editing or refining the shape of a polyline. CADPower-> Polyline-> Vertex Management-> Insert Vertex It is particularly useful when you need to adjust the geometry or add control points for better alignment or modifications in architectural, engineering or design drawings. By selecting the insertion point directly, the command makes the process quick and intuitive.

3D-to-2D: CP_CH3D2D – CADPower Command

Summary CP_CH3D2D: Converts all selected 3D Polylines and Lines into 2D Polylines and Lines. Depending on the setting of the PLINETYPE variable, the 2D polylines thus formed will be either heavy weight polylines or light weight polylines.  CADPower -> Polyline Tools -> Change 2d->3d->2d -> 3D-to-2D While creating the 2d polylines, you can specify the constant elevation that the 2d polylines should acquire. The following options are possible: Set to 0.0Lowest Z of each 3d polylineHighest Z of each 3d polylineSet to first vertex of each 3d polylineAverage of all vertices (default)Set to a value The standard object selection dialog appears and allows polylines and lines to be selected. Click Apply and the all the 3D polylines and lines are converted into 2D polylines. The original 3D polyline will be erased. Tech Info: CP_CH3D2D changes the DXF Group Code 70 of each polyline, removes the 8 bit and recreates a 2D polyline. The 2D polyline acquires new handles but any extended entity data in the 3D polyline will be transferred to the 2D polyline.

2D-to-3D: CP_CH2D3D – CADPower Command

Summary CP_CH2D3D: Converts all the selected 2D Polylines to 3D polylines. A 3D polyline can hold different Z values in each of its vertex. The new 3D polylines thus formed will look exactly like the 2D polylines except that internally they are 3D and therefore can hold Z values. CADPower -> Polyline Tools -> Change 2d->3d->2d -> 2D-to-3D The standard object selection dialog appears and allows polylines and lines to be selected. Click Apply and all the 2D polylines are converted into 3D polylines. The original 2D polyline will be erased. Join Connected Lines / Polylines: CP_JOINCONNECTED – CADPower Command

Join 3D Polylines: CP_3DJ – CADPower Command

Summary CP_3DJ: Command is a tool that automatically connects selected 3D Polyline objects by merging them at their endpoints. This simplifies the process of creating continuous shapes from separate segments in 3D Polylines. CADPower -> Polyline Tools -> Join -> Join 3D Polylines The CP_3DJ command joins 3D segments (lines or polylines) and combines them into a 3D Polylines. The PEDIT command does not allow joining of 3D segments. This command fills the need by allowing the Join subcommand to be applied on 3D Polyline segments or lines. The segments to be joined must be exactly touching each other. Once the command has been issued, the prompts that follow are similar to the PEDIT command. You are prompted to select polylines. If a line has been selected, you are prompted to convert it into a polyline. Then you select the objects to join. All touching segments are joined to the first segment resulting in a joined 3D Polyline.

Join 2D Polylines: CP_PLJOIN – CADPower Command

Summary CP_PLJOIN Command is a tool that automatically connects selected Line or 2D Polyline objects by merging them at their endpoints. This simplifies the process of creating continuous shapes from separate segments. CADPower -> Polyline Tools -> Join -> Join 2D Polylines Automatically fuses (joins) all selected line or polyline objects together. The objects should be touching each other at their ends.

CADPower License – How to Generate Appkeys?

To activate your license, we need the application keys (appkeys) of the computer where you are using CADPower. Method 1: Use this command from Ribbon Bar as shown in below image. Method 2: This is obtained by typing CP_APPKEY on the command line or from the drop-down menu CADPower -> Display Application Key. Once the application key is generated, please copy it from the command line and send it to us by email. By default, the appkey gets copied to the clipboard, so you can just run this command and go do a Control-V (paste) in your email software. Upon receipt of the email, we will generate your license file and send it back to you for activation.

Generating and Activating the CADPower Network License

Procedure for generating and activating the network license of CADPower. The network licensing key generation and activation works on a semi-automatic mode. You will need to provide us with the full path of the folder on the network drive where you will be placing this network license file. This folder should have both read and write access. This is very important, and if it does not have read-write access, the network license mechanism will fail. The path of the folder should be such that it is visible to a program. So, the path can be a named drive like f:/Designsense/Licenses or a path with a server name like  \\vsvr-157B\CADPower\License, and it must have read-write permission, as mentioned earlier. Once you send us the fully qualified path of the folder, we will encrypt that into the license file and send it back to you. The license file will have a name CADPowerUser24_EN_BC.rgs (I presume CADPower is running on BricsCAD). Next, install CADPower on all the computers from where you wish to use this server license and, within CADPower, run the command GT_ACTIVATELICENSE on the command line. You can also do this from the pull-down menu by going to CADPower -> More Options -> Activate License. After running this command, just browse and select the attached license file. This will copy your license to the local folder also. It will be stored in the C:/Users/<username>/AppData/Local/CADPower/BricsCAD/V24 folder. The license file must be copied (activated) on each computer from where it will be accessing the network folder and also on the server folder itself. Make sure that each computer has read-write access to the network folder where the license file is stored. After this is done, each time your AutoCAD (or BricsCAD) starts, it will read the local license file, determine the network license path, read the network license file and use the licenses from there.
