GeoTools

2D-to-3D: GT_CH2D3D – GeoTools Command

Summary

The GT_CH2D3D command in GeoTools allows you to effortlessly convert 2D polylines into 3D polylines, enabling each vertex to hold unique Z values. The newly created 3D polylines will visually resemble their 2D counterparts but will now support elevation data, making them ideal for terrain modeling, civil engineering, and 3D design workflows.

GeoTool -> Polyline Tools -> Join/Change -> 2D-to-3D

2D-to-3D: GT_CH2D3D – GeoTools Command

  • Converts 2D polylines into fully functional 3D polylines while maintaining their original shape.
  • Allows each vertex to hold independent Z values, essential for topographical and 3D design.
  • Works seamlessly in BricsCAD, AutoCAD, ZWCAD and ARES Commander.
  • The original 2D polylines are erased after conversion, ensuring a clean drawing.
  • Retains extended entity data (XDATA) from the original 2D polylines in the new 3D polylines.

Benefits:

With GT_CH2D3D, transitioning from 2D to 3D workflows becomes effortless, making it an essential tool for CAD professionals dealing with elevation-based design and 3D modeling.
