GeoTools

Whats New in GeoTools V25?

Notes

GeoTools V25 (Windows) is available on AutoCAD, BricsCAD, ZWCAD and ARES Commander.

The software runs as a plugin inside these operating CAD platforms and there is no separate icon created on the Windows desktop to run GeoTools.

You must uninstall all and any previous versions of GeoTools before installing the V25 version. This is important as, failure to do so may result in multiple versions of GeoTools attempting to initialize and this may cause conflicts and/or errors.

GeoTools runs on BricsCAD Lite also, since this is a 100% Lisp application. However, it does not run on AutoCAD LT, and requires a full version of AutoCAD. It runs on ZWCAD Standard and professional versions.

Welcome to GeoTools, where continuous product improvement is a way of life. We work daily to deliver the features and fixes that make GeoTools the best DWG CAD productivity plugin for you. #welisten

Improvements to GeoTools

Bug fix: GT_KML2DWG (GeoTools -> Geographic -> KML2DWG (Google Earth KML/Z Import)

The GT_KML2DWG command was throwing up a ‘divide by zero’ error while importing some types of KML files. This has been fixed now.
A number of other improvements have been made in the GT_KML2DWG command to make the user experience better.

Changed behavior/improvement: GT_TRIANGULATE (GeoTools -> Civil Tools -> Surfaces-> Create TIN (Delauney triangulation) & Voronoi polygons)

The GT_TRIANGULATE command has been optimized to use BricsCAD TIN features where available. This means that GeoTools will now always use the BricsCAD TIN engine if you are using BricsCAD V 22.2 Pro or later.

If you are using the Lite version of BricsCAD or a build older than V22.2, a suitable warning and message is displayed. It is always advisable to a newer version of BricsCAD and the Pro version if you wish to benefit from Civil tools of GeoTools, powered by BricsCAD Pro.

Future announcement: Work in progress: GT_L-SECTION command (Civil Tools)

We have started work on a new and cool command called GT_L-SECTION that will complement our existing GT_PROFILE command
and offer an alternative method to create cross-sectional profiles (or long sections, as they are called in some countries).
This new approach allows you to select levels and chainages from a CSV or Excel file and create cross-sections quickly.
