Packed with number of improvements with GeoTools-CADPower V 16.11 Update
Bengaluru, India
V 16.11 of CADPower & GeoTools is a significant update which packs a number of useful improvements in usability, access of settings and general messaging.
Here is a summary of the new features and improvements:
CADPower V 16.11
New command added (BricsCAD only): TXT2MTXT (CADPower-> Text-> Editing-> Consolidate Text into MText (quick version)): The TXT2MTXT command (also runs as CP_CONS_QMTXT command) is a quicker version of the existing CP_CONS_TXT command that more closely emulates the AutoCAD command by the same name. This command is available in the BricsCAD version only.
The TXT2MTXT command allows user to pick multiple text objects and convert them all into one single MTEXT object with the insertion point being the most top left corner of the text in the selection.
The command is also available as CP_CONS_QMTXT on the command line. The TXT2MTXT naming was provided to make it easy for AutoCAD users.
This command is a variant of the already existing command CP_CONS_TXT which allows user to pick multiple text objects in order and assemble them all into a single MText or concatenated single new text object.
New command added (BricsCAD only): TEXTMASK (CADPower-> Text-> Display -> TEXTMASK): The new TEXTMASK command in BricsCAD emulates the TEXTMASK command in AutoCAD. The TEXTMASK command uses WIPEOUT objects underneath to mask the text. These are created with frames set to OFF. The only slight difference between the AutoCAD implementation and the BricsCAD implementation is that, in BricsCAD, the WIPEOUT does not automatically move or update with the text if text is updated.
Updated command: CP_BOM (Menu: CADPower -> BOM/BOQ Tools -> Create Bill of Materials/Quantities):
The CP_BOM command has an additional functionality. You can now import any CSV file into CAD as a table. A new option called ‘Import Only’ has been added which imports a CSV file and creates a table of text.
Additional sample files for CP_BOM: Additional sample drawings and BOM/BOQ INI files are now shipped with this version. Under the <install_folder>/SUPPORT/BOM folder, the following new files can be found and are explained below:
Departmental_Store.DWG: Sample drawing for the ‘Attribute Extract’ BOM work-flow
Departmental_Store.INI: Sample INI file for the ‘Attribute Extract’ BOM work-flow
Elevator.dwg: Sample drawing for the ‘Multiple blocks (by name)’ BOM work-flow
Elevator.INI: Sample INI file for the ‘Multiple blocks (by name)’ BOM work-flow
Floor Plans BricsCAD for BOM.dwg: Sample drawing for the ‘Count Attribute Values’ BOM work-flow
Floor Plans BricsCAD for BOM.ini: Sample INI file for the ‘Count Attribute Values’ BOM work-flow
TilePlace.dwg: Sample drawing for the ‘Count Scale Factors’ BOM work-flow
TilePlace.ini: Sample INI file for the ‘Count Scale Factors’ BOM work-flow
Enhanced command: CP_VXLABEL: (CADPower -> Annotation -> Label polyline vertices): The CP_VXLABEL command has been enhanced. It is now possible to create stacked annotation of coordinates one below the other. It is also possible to swap the X & Y coordinates and write the annotation as XY(EN), XYZ(ENH) or YX(NE), YXZ(NEH).
This change has been introduced to facilitate annotation of geographic coordinates which are in the sequence Easting-Northing or Northing-Easting in some countries.
It is now possible to specify X, Y and Z coordinates precision independently in this command.
They must be separated by commas. For example, entering the coordinates precision as 2,2,1 will display the coordinates with 2 decimal places in X, 2 in Y and 1 in Z.
Enhanced command: CP_IDXYZ (CADPower -> Annotation -> Label points): The CP_IDXYZ command has been enhanced significantly.
In another enhancement, a text offset option has been added. You can now specify the horizontal and vertical offset by which the text must be shifted.
Enhancement: CP_INSVX (CADPower-> Polyline-> Vertex Management-> Insert Vertex): A new option has been added in the ‘Interactive’ mode to allow specifying the distance from the mid-point of the original segment of the polyline to the new dragged position of the vertex being added. This makes it easier for precise positioning of the new vertex.
In the ‘Immediate’ mode, the command now reports the distance within the segment at which the new vertex was added.
Enhancement: CP_NEWSTART: (CADPower-> Polyline-> Vertex Management-> Specify a new start point for closed polylines): The CP_NEWSTART command now creates a temporary RED marker at the existing start point of the polyline and when the new start point is asked, the OSNAP is automatically set to ENDpoint. This makes it easier to specify the new start point.
Enhancement: CP_IMPEX (CADPower -> Export -> Import / Export points and lines): A new Import option has been added to create points and text together in one single operation. It is also now possible to set the text height within the CP_IMPEX command.
CP_SEGLABEL: (CADPower -> Annotation -> Label polyline segments): An option to specify the distance tolerances was added.
GeoTools V 16.11
Fixed command: GT_POLYINSVX (Menu: GeoTools -> Polyline Tools -> Process -> Polyline ‘Insert Vertex’ Tool): This command has been fixed and a number of defects removed. The online documentation has been updated as well.
Bug fix: GT_CONTLABEL (GeoTools -> Annotation -> Label contour polylines): If ‘HIDE underneath (WIPEOUT)’ option was used, the broken contour got removed when the command next started. This has been fixed now.
Improvement: GT_CONTLABEL (GeoTools -> Annotation -> Label contour polylines): A new option to label contours only in a specified elevation range has been added.
New command added: GT_VOLUME (GeoTools -> Civil Tools -> Volumetric analysis): A new command for volume calculations has been added. This is going to evolve further going ahead.
The GT_VOLUME command is used to analyze two cross-sectional profile created by GT_CROSSSECT command and compute the cut-fill areas across the profile.
The inputs for this command are the closed cross-sectional profile line created by GT_CROSSSECT command and a new grade line across the profile that you want to place. Given these two inputs, the GT_VOLUME command will compute the cut and fill areas and color them accordingly as specified in the settings (see dialog box above) and display the same on the profile.
At the end of the computation, there is also a listing of the total area of fill and cut.
The colors of the volume section, cut and fill layers was not appearing correctly, when route prefix is applied. This has been fixed now. Documentation has been added and updated.
Enhanced command: GT_VXLABEL: (GeoTools -> Annotation -> Label polyline vertices): The GT_VXLABEL command has been enhanced.
Enhanced command: GT_IDXYZ (GeoTools -> Annotation -> Label points): The GT_IDXYZ command has been enhanced.
Enhancement: GT_NODELINESNAP (GeoTools -> Drawing Cleanup -> Linear and Node Snap (MAGNET)): The GT_NODELINESNAP now stores its temporary markers (to indicate moved points) in a layer called NODELINESNAP_$TEMP$ and not GEOTOOLS_$TEMP$.
The contents of this layer are cleared the next time you run GT_NODELINESNAP and not when you run any other GeoTools command.
This ensures that the temporary markers are available for a longer time and don’t get wiped off immediately with the next GeoTools command.
Enhancement: GT_IMPEX (GeoTools -> Export -> Import / Export points and lines): A new Import option has been added to create points and text together in one single operation. It is also now possible to set the text height within the GT_IMPEX command.
Improved command: GT_SEGLABEL: (GeoTools -> Annotation -> Label polyline segments): An option to specify the distance tolerances was added.
