GeoTools-CADPower Newsletter April 2022 V22.51
GeoTools and CADPower are now compatible with AutoCAD 2023
If you are using AutoCAD 2023, there is good news! We have released V 22.50 update which is the first version compatible with AutoCAD 2023.
With this inclusion, GeoTools and CADPower now run on AutoCAD versions 2012 through to AutoCAD 2023, and BricsCAD versions V18-V22.
We are in the middle of a 18-month lifecycle of our products, and you don’t need to upgrade your V22 to use AutoCAD 2023.
The next numbered release of GeoTools and CADPower will be V23, in October 2022, and this is now set to coincide with the release of BricsCAD V23.
CP_TC improvement in CADPower
The CP_TC (CADPower-> Text-> Creation-> Draw Quick Text (running numbers)) command has been improved in CADPower (for BricsCAD). You can now pick the Settings and Layer option from the mouse itself, using the highlighted keyword. This makes the command more intuitive and easier to use, especially for first time users.
GeoTools Civil Tools Improvements in BricsCAD
I am pretty excited that, with access to this API, there is a lot of stuff that we can achieve in GeoTools.
We have just begun a long journey to integrate the BricscAD C22 Civil API functions into GeoTools. You can expect to see more in GeoTools now on the Civil functions category.
As a first step, the GT_TRIANGULATE command in GeoTools will now use the BricsCAD Civil API functions to generate the TIN surface. This will result in a significant performance improvement of over 100x compared to the earlier TIN engine which we used in GeoTools.
CP_MEASUREMANY improvement in CADPower
The CP_MEASUREMANY (CADPower -> Build -> Measure multiple objects) command in CADPower has been improved and provided with a dialog-box interface.
